My name is Stephen Pechon and I have been working in Oregon as a professional hot glass worker since 1999. I Originally worked as a production lamp-worker (the proper name for working glass on a torch) in Jacksonville Oregon. In 2004 I signed on as an apprentice glassblower at the Glass Forge in Grants Pass where I am still blessed to work with an outstandingly talented group of people.
In 2005 I was approached by the leader of a Mom's Bereavement support group. She wanted to know if I would be willing to make memorial necklace pendants made with some of the cremated ash
from her daughter.
After much thought and prayer, I realized that we, as a society, don't much talk about death, dying and the grieving process. People grieve and memorialize in many different ways. It was placed on my heart that if I could be involved in that process, I am honored and blessed to be a part. I truly believe this is a calling.
